Leon’s key responsibilities are maintaining the lines of communication with EventScotland’s key stakeholders. This includes the Scottish Government and Scotland’s councils, sports governing bodies, cultural organisations and the wider events industry. 

Leon has a degree in politics from the University of Stirling and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.  After graduating he worked for the Scottish Prison Service in the research department before moving to London to head up a project on international and military relations for a defence studies institute.  Leon has also worked as the Communications Manager with the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations before moving to Audit Scotland.
