In August, Glasgow becomes the beating heart of world piping as we proudly bring you the highly anticipated finale of the international piping festival. Enjoy a fantastic day-long event that will please piping fans and those looking for a great value family day out alike.

Glasgow World Highland Games
This event proves a hit year on year. Watch in awe as these strong men from around the world compete across several disciplines in the bid to claim glory! Games include favourites, caber toss, shot putt and the hammer.
This day-long competition always draws the crowds! Enjoy the Scottish music and graceful dance displays in the Highland Dancing arena as the best highland dancers from around the world compete in competitive heats throughout the day.
Taste of Scotland
New to the World Pipe Band Championships this year, we celebrate Scotland’s finest cooking and freshest produce in the Taste of Scotland marquee. Expect your tastebuds to be tantilised and your senses awakened by the delicious smell of fresh Scottish fare. Food demonstrations will take place throughout the day (11am, 12:30pm, 14:30pm and 16:00pm) and include; chive blinis with Scottish smoked salmon, venison with cider and mushrooms, crushed parsley new potatoes, beetroot and apple salsa and summer fruit pudding with lemon yogurt syllabub.
A wide selection of traders around the site will be offering essential Pipe and Drums merchandise as well as delicious home-made fudge and confectionary for sale. There will also be a fantastic variety of traditional Scottish souvenirs!
The craft fair will again be held in the Winter Gardens where a wide selection of handmade Scottish crafts will be on sale including art, jewellery, ornaments and much more.
