For 2016 the BHCR organising team are endeavouring the broaden the spectrum of the Bo’ness Speed Hillclimb and the Classic Car Show by means of some subtle rebranding, hence the change in title of the event to The Bo’ness Speed Hillclimb and Motoring Heritage Weekend.
The Speed Hillclimb is firmly established in the UK Hillclimbing scene and continues to grow in stature and popularity each year. The Classic Car Show has also grown over the past few years, with the decision taken to further develop this element of Bo’ness for 2016.
The emphasis will be in action and participation and it is hoped this will make the overall Bo’ness event more attractive to Motoring Heritage Weekend entrants. The Club Stand display area is to be relocated to the larger park area on the South side of the Kinneil House access drive, providing more space to enable an increase in the number of participating clubs together with more space for each club. The move in location of the club stands negates the issue of restricted access due to having specific time slots to cross the hillclimb track and should also ease general entry and exit to the event. The basic format of the Heritage Weekend is as follows.
