The Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival is back for another year of entertainment. 2010’s revitalised literary programme and increased number of children's events adds to the strong tradition of music, dance, visual arts and films creating the most vibrant programme to date. Events take place in a range of venues throughout the region, from large to small, formal to informal, urban to rural.
One of the key events in this year’s Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival is Big Man Walking (pictured above): an 8 metre high puppet which walks the streets and films what he sees for both a national and international audience. Big Man Walking has been a huge success since he was unveiled in September of last year as he is starting to make his way around the country. The event is organised in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Arts Association.
