Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival

various
The Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival, led by the Mental Health Foundation, is one of Scotland’s most diverse and inclusive cultural events, combining high quality artistic events with extensive community-led programming and a social justice agenda. The festival aims to celebrate the artistic achievements of people with experience of mental health issues, explore the relationship between creativity and the mind, encourage conversations about mental health, promote positive mental health and wellbeing, and reduce stigma.

Events in 2018 aim to further engage young people in the festival and explore the idea that the road to positive mental health – or to mental health problems – begins very early in life. In celebration of the 2018 Year of Young People three distinct pieces of work will be developed in partnership with Vox Liminis, Cultured Mongrel Dance Theatre (Emma Jayne Park) and Into Film Scotland. The programming of the festival will be shaped and guided by a brand new youth panel.
