Tay Descent

Tay Descent is a new, mass participation canoeing and kayaking event down the River Tay, finishing in Perth. As part of the Tay Descent, organisers will deliver a national marathon canoeing event in collaboration with the British Canoe Union Marathon committee.  This will be one of the highlights of the British Marathon Canoe Racing calendar and organisers hope to attract competitors from as far as South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Canada.

Tay Descent will consist of a tour as well as a competitive long distance race and three different distance courses will be offered from 5 miles up to 23 miles in length – all finishing in Perth in the early afternoon.  To round off the event in style there will be an evening Ceilidh for all participants and as the Descent coincides with the Annual Scottish Canoe and Kayak Show, Paddle 2010, participants will have access to the talks, workshops, manufacturer and retail stands.
