Marking the start of the native oyster harvesting season, Stranraer Oyster Festival is bringing top chefs, inspiring speakers, amazing entertainers and some of the world’s leading oyster experts together to have a seafood celebration on the shores of Loch Ryan.
The Festival launches on the evening of Friday 14th September when the first Scottish native oysters of the season are piped ashore from the Vital Spark oyster boat. The family friendly evening continues with kids activities, seafood streetfood, live music and fireworks over the harbour.
Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September sees a packed programme of activities, entertainment and local produce. Highlights include the Scottish Oyster Shucking Championship, demonstrations by Nick Nairn, a seafood streetfood marquee with live music throughout the weekend, The Big Oyster Bash, children's entertainment and crafts, a champagne & oyster bar, local gin, local oysters and a festival market packed with local produce.
