TweedLove bike festival was held for the first time in 2010 and proved a great success with over 1000 cyclists taking part. TweedLove aims to reinforce the area’s reputation as the premier cycling destination in the UK welcoming both road and mountain bike fans from across the UK and Europe. The Tweed Valley offers hundreds of miles of the country’s best trails, tracks and roads, from the sweet singletrack at Glentress and Innerleithen to endless miles of natural cross country riding and some of the UK’s most scenic, quiet country roads.
This year will see the launch of TweedLove’s flagship new event, The Glentress Seven, a major new mountain bike race and a high speed criterium road race in Peebles. There will also be a major film night, barbecue night, top brands bike demo sessions, a closing concert with the best in locally sourced musical talent and a named headline act. Unique to TweedLove is a series of free guided bike rides, where local riders host visitors on their favourite trails – a new idea which proved a great success in 2010.
