Scottish Hydro Challenge

Scottish Hydro Challenge

Inaugurated in 2006, as a direct result of Scotland’s successful bid to host The 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, the Scottish Hydro Challenge, has, by virtue of its consistently high prize fund, become one of the most important events on the European Challenge Tour’s global schedule.

Once again the Scottish Hydro will be staged at the Macdonald Spey Valley Golf Course in Aviemore, from June 23-26, where Scotland’s leading young professionals will have an opportunity to test themselves against players from all over the world.

The Scottish Hydro Challenge will continue to play an important tournament in the development of the professional game in Scotland as it provides our best young players the chance to compete at the level required to gauge if they have what it takes to make it to the top level.

This year’s tournament will also serve as the perfect warm-up to The Barclays Scottish Open, with the Scottish Hydro Challenge being staged just two weeks before Scotland’s national open at the neighbouring Castle Stuart Golf Links.
