A series of ‘Taste of India’ farmers' markets will take place in February and March as part of Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink.
Held across Scotland, the five farmers markets will celebrate Scotland’s unique relationship with India by hosting a series of cookery demonstrations from expert chefs. Using fresh market produce to create dishes with an Indian twist, the chefs will show how Scottish food and drink can enhance dishes from around the world. Tastings and competitions will also entertain visitors to the markets.
The first of the ‘Taste of India’ farmers markets takes place in Perth on 5 February with market chef and local restaurateurs Tony Heath and Praveen Kumar demonstrating how to rustle up a tasty Indian meal using Scottish produce. Visitors will be given the opportunity to take the recipes home and try them out for themselves.
