Bloody Scotland is Scotland’s first festival dedicated to crime writing. Scotland has an international reputation for crime with the phrase ‘Tartan Noir’ representing some of the best crime writing in the world. The success of Scottish authors such as Ian Rankin, Val McDermid, Alexander McCall Smith and Christopher Brookmyre have given the people behind Bloody Scotland a belief that we should celebrate this unique Scottish genre. The event will be held in the heart of Scotland - with two venues in Stirling hosting the first festival.
Running from the 14th to 16th of September 2012, Stirling has been chosen for its unique place in Scottish history and geographical location. Details on the event and the authors participating will be launched soon and more information can be found at http://www.bloodyscotland.com/
Bloody Scotland is included in the Year of Creative Scotland Partner Events Programme.
