The Global Energy Inverness Half Marathon starts along the banks of the River Ness near the centre of Inverness, the Highland capital. It then follows the river, running beneath the dramatic outline of Inverness Castle. A warm welcome finally awaits all runners as they approach the finish line on entering the city’s Queen’s Park Stadium – achieved by over 2500 runners in 2011 and many others over the decades it has been staged. This year the prize for coming first is £1000!
Whatever your level of ability, whatever your goal, what is really important is that you want to run. For those who want to ease themselves gradually into the sport or simply raise money for good causes at a gentle pace, our 5K Fun Run could be ideal. It’s a perfect way to get started.
New for 2012: the Global Energy 5K Team Attack is an ideal way for businesses to take part and benefit from team-building opportunities. Enjoy some friendly rivalry as you compete for a range of prize categories. If you prefer a team approach to sport then this is perfect for you – especially as the route is fun and scenic.
So the challenge is there: a beautiful run over a course suitable for all levels of ability. We invite you to take your place on the start line on Sunday 11 March 2012.
