Boswell Book Festival


The Boswell Book Festival is unique among book festivals in celebrating the art of biography and memoir. Launched to huge acclaim in 2011, it takes place at the magnificent Auchinleck House, home of the father of modern biography, James Boswell. People’s life stories past and present are at the heart of the Festival.

2013 marks a special occasion for the festival, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the meeting of Mr. James Boswell and Mr. Samuel Johnson at 8 Russel Street, Covent Garden. Authors' talks, discussions, master classes, music and theatre performances as well as a host of related events will all feature in 2013's diverse festival programme. This, the third festival, also sees the launch of a special new children's day on Friday 10th May in advance of the main festival. And, by popular demand, Head of Yale University's Boswell Archive, Dr. Gordon Turnbull will be back...
