Athletes and fans from across the continent will descend on Scotland, with some of the world's top ranking countries represented. This event will crown the European Champions for both men and women and determine qualification for the World Curling Championships in 2017, forming the pathway to qualification at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.

In partnership with Royal Caledonian Curling Club UK Sport, and partners in Renfrewshire, Aberdeen, Stirling & Glasgow, EventScotland has secured four curling championships for Scotland: 2016 European Curling Championships, 2018 World Junior Curling Championships, 2019 World Wheelchair Curling Championship and 2020 World Men’s Curling Championship.  Scotland is the birthplace of curling and we will work together to maximise the opportunities presented by the Championships over the forthcoming years.
Aberdeen held the European Championships back in 2009 and the 2016 will take place at the Braehead Arena in Renfrewshire, with the SSE Hydro in Glasgow the chosen venue for 2020.
