Earlier this year EventScotland held a free seminar on Greener Events where we invited event organisers along to learn about how and why we should be striving to make events greener.

We had several speakers along to provide a framework for the day and to provide some fodder for discussions.  Click on the links below to read their presentations:

 

Ben Challis - Co-Founder of A Greener Festival

Agreenerfestival is a ‘not for profit’ company and the website was set up to provide easy to find information and practical advice, and to facilitate the exchange of good ideas.  His presentation talks about why events should be going green, and how.

 

Carolyn Hedley - Project Manager, Scottish Golf Environment Group

Carolyn’s presentation talks about why and how the Scottish Golf Union are going green.

 

Charles Henderson - Director of Climate Futures

Climate Futures are specialists in low carbon advice, development of clean energy enterprises and communication of climate change.

 

Kath M Mainland - former Administrative Director of the Edinburgh International Book Festival

Kath talked about how the Edinburgh International Book Festival is greening up its act.

 

Dr. Joe Goldblatt CSEP - Executive Director, International Centre for the Study of Planned Events, Queen Margaret University

Dr. Goldblatt concluded the presentations and provided references and resources on how to green your event.
