National Events Programme

When our new National Events Strategy was launched in December 2008, our Regional Events Programme was re-launched as the National Events Programme to align with the strategy. In this section you will be able to find out more about our National Events Programme, and how to apply for funding.

01. ABOUT THE NATIONAL EVENTS PROGRAMME

The National Funding Programme complements the International Funding Programme and plays an integral role in developing domestic tourism across Scotland. By supporting events which take place outside the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, EventScotland is also growing Scotland's wider events portfolio which forms the backbone of our events industry.

03. Apply for Funding

During Scotland’s Winter Festive period, events are staged across the country with a focus on the landmark dates of St Andrew’s Day (30 November), Hogmanay (31 December) and Burns Night (25 January). Event organisers wishing to develop events around those landmark dates, outside the cities of Edinburgh & Glasgow, are permitted to apply to Round 20 of the National Programme. Please note: successful applicants are unlikely to also be eligible for any potential 2012/13 Scotland’s Winter Festival Fund.

The Scottish Government has announced that 2014 will be Scotland’s second year of Homecoming. If you wish to apply for funding for an event to be part of the Homecoming Scotland 2014 celebrations in Round 20 (deadline 3 February 2012) please call EventScotland on 0131 472 2313.
