Funding Programmes

EventScotland's vision is to sustain Scotland’s international profile as one of the world’s foremost events destinations upto and beyond 2015, increasing visitor numbers to Scotland and maximising all tourism related business for the continued development of the Scottish economy.

Our primary objectives focus on delivering major events to Scotland and the International Events Programme has been developed to support and attract those events which will generate significant international media coverage and/or create significant economic impact for Scotland.

We also have a Regional Events Programme which complements our core activity and plays an integral role in developing domestic tourism across Scotland by supporting events which take place outside the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Programme assists sporting and cultural events that can demonstrate their potential to develop and grow.

In addition to these event programmes, EventScotland takes a lead role as advisors in the bidding process for major international events. A consultative and partnership approach is the key to our success.
