Nearly eighteen months after the idea was first born, Scotland have announced they have agreed an initial three-year deal with the FIM, to bring world-class trails to Scotland from 2010 onwards.
The spectacular and scenic setting at Nevis Range just outside Fort William will host all three events, with the first of these being a round of the 2010 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship taking place on 26 - 27 June.
The fabulous venue at the foot the famous Ben Nevis mountain will the welcome the Trail des Nations in September 2011 - the first time ever that this inter-countries team competition has been hosted in the UK mainland during its history.
The initial three year plan will then be brought to a close in 2012, when the Scottish Highlands enjoys yet another round of the SPEA FIM Trial World Championship.
Paul Bush, Chief Operating Officer at EventScotland, said: "Scotland has a rich history in motor sports and has hosted many outstanding competitions in the field. The Nevis Range is famous around the world as a backdrop for fast paced and spectator friendly sports and will provide the perfect stage to showcase motorcycle trials.
"This will be the first time the UK has hosted the Trial des Nations and we are looking forward to an exciting three years of world championship motorsport action."
