Tornado Jet Stars to Salute Spirit of Speyside

Stars of STV’s JetSet will crew the flight to salute the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival's finale concert starring Scottish band Capercaillie.

Flt Lt Gavin Fryer, Pilot and Flt Lt Mark Still, Weapons Systems Operator will get the Whisky Festival's final musical celebrations off to a flying start as they head along the River Spey and over the concert venue at Alice Littler Park at 19.30 on Saturday, 9th May.

Based at Lossiemouth as members of the historic 617 ‘The Dambusters’ Squadron the Tornado crew represent 70 years of the service by the RAF and the Fleet Air Arm in Moray.

The Tornado will be clearly visible to all concert goers in the Alice Littler Park as it approaches Aberlour, before climbing steeply above the Park and returning to base.

Festival Chairman, Jim Royan, said: "The Festival is delighted that the RAF should salute the Festival in this way. The flypast will be a fitting celebration of the important contribution both the RAF and Scotch whisky make to the life of Speyside and Moray."
