The Gathering 2009 open Dress Rehearsal of Finale Event to Public

Tickets for the dress rehearsal for the centrepiece of The Gathering 2009 weekend are now on sale. Entry to the world premiere of Aisling’s Children: Tales of the Homecoming on Edinburgh Castle Esplanade was previously through the all-inclusive weekend passport ticket.  However, as they look set to sell out, organisers have made 2000 tickets available for the dress rehearsal on Friday 24 July so more people can witness one of the highlights of the Homecoming year.

Jenny Gilmour said: “Aisling’s Children; Tales of the Homecoming, is set to be a momentous event, with a cast of over 180 people and an original script and score, the production team has worked continuously over the past few months to produce this giant depiction of dramatic moments in Scottish history.  We want as many people as possible to witness this spectacular highlight of The Gathering 2009 and with passport tickets almost sold out, we decided to offer the public a chance to be at the heart of the action and see the dress rehearsal.”

The dress rehearsal of Aisling’s Children takes place at Edinburgh Castle Esplanade on Friday 24 July at 10pm and doors open at 9pm. Tickets costing £10 are available in person from The Hub at Castlehill, Edinburgh, online at or by phoning 0131 473 2000.

A limited number of all-inclusive passport tickets to the performance and clan parade on Saturday 25 July, and two days of world-class Highland Games in Holyrood Park on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July are also still available from
