Edinburgh ITU Duathlon World Championships Celebrate One Year to Go

In exactly one year’s time, athletes from around the world will arrive in Edinburgh to take part in the 2010 Edinburgh ITU Duathlon World Championships from 3 to 5 September 2010.

The event is expected to attract hundreds of Elite and Age-Group athletes to the Scottish capital, where they will compete around the historic Holyrood Park, Arthur’s Seat and the Scottish Parliament.

The one-year countdown also marks the official launch of the event website, www.EdinburghDuathlon2010.com. The website has up-to-date course details, visitor information on the City of Edinburgh and advice on how to volunteer at the event.

Scotland boasts a strong tradition within duathlon, most notably through reigning ETU Duathlon European Champion, Catriona Morrison from Broxburn who is excited the countdown has begun, commenting:  “With just 365 days to go before the 2010 Edinburgh ITU Duathlon World Championships arrive in the Scottish Capital, as a local athlete I am both proud and excited to be part of such a prestigious event.

"The course is exciting and challenging and will be a real test of fitness and determination for both the Elite and Age-Group athletes alike. Edinburgh is a beautiful city and it will be a real honour to race in such a fantastic location.”
