An astonishing 24,000 people braved wind and rain to take the plunge at Kirkintilloch Canal Festival.
The weather may have been mixed, but the verdict certainly wasn't – Kirkintilloch Canal Festival was spectacular. The festival included a variety of boat trips, live music, funfairs, attractions, exhibitions, a street parade, police open day and more.
Council leader Rhondda Geekie officially opened the canal festival on Sunday and spent the afternoon enjoying the family atmosphere in the town. She said: "It has been really exciting to watch the canal festival grow from a great event into a truly spectacular one over the last few years.
"Once again the town was packed with local people and visitors alike enjoying the noise, colour and fun of what was a fantastic family day out.
