Peebles High School Cycle Club to lead Tour of Britain Start

Borders schools are getting wrapped up in the excitement of the upcoming Tour of Britain and Peebles High School has a special role to play as their cycling club will be leading the official Tour riders out of Peebles, along with Peebles Cycle Club members which may well inspire a few of them to go on to try to be the next  Chris Hoy or Bradley Wiggins.

At least 20 schools and more than 2,000 pupils are expected to turn out to cheer on the riders, with special competitions/events running in schools to support the event including the "Wear it Yellow" (where they're encouraged to wear their own yellow jerseys in the manner of the Tour de France leaders and many others.

The great turnout from pupils, along with other fans should help promote the Borders as the ideal venue for sporting events in the future.
