Dott to face Robertson in Glasgow Showdown

Scotland's Graeme Dott will play Australia's Neil Robertson in the first round of the new World Snooker Open. The clash will open the tournament at the SECC taking place on the first date of the event, 18 September. The tournament runs until the 26th of September.

The random draw for the tournament pitched Pocket Dynamo Dott against Thunder From Down Under Robertson in a repeat of the World Snooker Championship final, which Robertson won 18-13 in May.

The World Open has been described as the 'FA Cup' of snooker and includes innovations such as quick-fire best-of-five frame matches, a random draw, and the chance for amateur players to enter the qualifiers and get all the way through to meet the sport's top stars.
