Scotland’s visitor attractions embrace St Andrew’s Day Celebrations

As the nation gears up for St Andrew’s Day, it was announced today (9/11/12) that more of Scotland’s best-loved visitor and leisure attractions than ever before are embracing the celebrations by offering free or discounted offers to the public across the country.

On the weekend of 26th and 27th of November and on St Andrew’s Day, Scots and Scots at heart can make the most of this year’s special offers, as well as joining the celebrations taking place in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, St Andrews and Haddington.

Just in time for the celebrations commencing, a new application for smart phones will put St Andrew’s Day events and activities at your fingertips.  Scots the world over can also use the free  app to learn more about the history of St Andrew and get in the party mood with a guide to hosting celebrations wherever they may be.

Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop said: “Scotland’s Winter Festivals provide a great opportunity to showcase Scotland as a great visitor destination and the perfect stage for events year round.

“Celebrations that centre on Christmas events and carry on right through to January will be kicked off with the St Andrew’s Day celebrations."
