There have been some incredible events in Scotland during 2011, and EventScotland is delighted to be supporting Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling, where Scotland will welcome the New Year in style.
Scotland is the perfect stage for events, and no matter where you are in the world you can be part of the action as Edinburgh’s Hogmanay will be streamed live online. The broadcast will feature Primal Scream and the world famous fireworks display, giving you a taste of the world’s best Hogmanay celebrations; for more info and to sign up visit Edinburgh’s Hogmanay.
As we enter the Olympic year, we can look forward to a host of fantastic events taking place in Scotland. Glasgow is of course an Olympic football city and there’s an exciting programme of Cultural Olympiad and London 2012 Festival events in Scotland. With the sporting theme in mind, those wishing to get the year off to an active start can sign up for the BUPA Great Winter Run on January 7.
The Scottish Leg of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay is an exciting milestone on the road to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and beyond to the Commonwealth Games to be held in Scotland in 2014. The Torch will be in Scotland between 8 - 21 June; for more information about it's route visit London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay.
In 2012 we will be celebrating the Year of Creative Scotland which will promote Scotland’s cultural and creative vibrancy. Along with our existing world class cultural events programme we can also look forward to a range of special events and activity taking place across the country.
Enjoy Hogmanay, and all the best for the New Year!
