The award-winning Hebridean Celtic Festival has announced its main programme for 2011 and famous Scottish singer KT Tunstall is one of its leading attractions.
Other artists appearing on the mainstage include Seth Lakeman, Stornoway, Peatbog Faeries, KAN, Rachel Sermanni, Mànran, and Dàimh.
This year also sees the introduction of a second stage at the event’s main site in the grounds of Lews Castle (13th-16th July). This will double the choice of music available for festival-goers who traditionally make their way to Stornoway each year from countries around the world.
The second stage is being funded by the Scotland’s Islands marketing initiative, and will see bands such as Fullsceilidh Spelemannslag from Shetland, Niteworks from Skye, Saltfishforty from Orkney, and the Open Day Rotation and The Boy Who Trapped the Sun from Lewis. Others featured on the second stage include Ahab, Kitty the Lion and Woodenbox with a Fistful of Fivers.
