Feast celebrates Scottish regional food and drink

FEAST 2011, the unique student led festival featuring dinners prepared by both young chefs from some of Scotland’s most prestigious kitchens, proved to be an overwhelming success

A collaboration between QMU and Jewel & Esk College, FEAST 2011 coincided with the Scottish Government’s yearlong focus on Scottish food and drink. Supported by a string of award winning chefs and part funded by EventScotland, the event built on the success of the first student-led food festival in 2010. However, FEAST 2011 was bigger, better and even more impressive than the first festival.

FEAST 2011 began at QMU on Friday 1 April with a gourmet dinner. The guest of honour for the day was Albert Roux, one of the most inspirational chefs in the world. The second, student-led part of the event, took place on Saturday 2nd April at jewel and Esk College.

Both events focused on the theme of celebrating Scottish regional food and drink, and as such, brought together a wealth of culinary talent and outstanding Scottish produce.
