Dunfermline’s Robert the Bruce Festival received a significant boost this week with the announcement that EventScotland will be providing funding support for the 2011 event.
The support of the Bruce Festival underlines the significance of the Dunfermline event as one of Scotland’s premier historical celebrations.
The 2010 Bruce Festival attracted over 16,000 visitors which provided a direct boost to the local economy. Figures released by Dunfermline Delivers from independent research commissioned at the 2011 event showed that over £320,000 was spent in Dunfermline by visitors to the Festival.
The 2011 Bruce Festival is to be launched at the end of May when the new content elements will be revealed. It will be supported with a promotional and media campaign that aims to attract visitors from across Scotland and the UK.
