As one of the most famous poets in the world, there’s no doubt Scotland’s Bard certainly had the X factor – and now Rabbie Burns and the X Factor are coming together later this month at the 2011 burns an' a' that! Festival, which takes place across Ayrshire between 25-30 May.
X Factor favourites Ruth Lorenzo, Paije Richardson and Wagner will take to the stage in Ayr Town Hall on Friday 27 May for a terrific night of fun and music complemented by house band, The Floorstompers.
And with tickets priced at just £10 per person, it’s the ideal family night out.
The X Factor night is one of four headline events at South Ayrshire Council’s burns an' a' that! Festival – supported by EventScotland and VisitScotland – which is the largest arts and cultural festival in south-west Scotland.
Other headliners include the Festival Opening Hoolie, featuring Skerryvore, Counselled Out and The Train Wreckers; Hue and Cry (with full seven piece band); and the Finale with Dougie MacLean, Midge Ure and Capercaillie.
The Friday X Factor night will feature some of the former contestants’ most memorable performances as well as samples of their latest work, offering a wide variety of musical entertainment for fans of all ages.
To keep the X Factor spirit well and truly alive, the event will be hosted by West FM DJ Colin McCardle who said: “"I'm really excited about being Dermot O'Leary for the night!"
As well as the headline events, the burns an’ a’ that! Festival offers an eclectic fringe programme with literary sessions, author talks, poetry picnics, arts and culture events, food and drink tasting events, live music, paranormal events, fun workshops and children’s events running at a variety of venues across Ayrshire – many of which are free to attend.
