Boyz II Men at MOBO Awards

Boyz II Men will be celebrating 20 years in music with a special performance at this year’s MOBO Awards in association with Lebara Mobile which will be returning to Glasgow’s SECC on 5th October.

Selling over 60 million albums world-wide, Boyz II Men are the most successful R’n’B group of all time.  They found fame back in the 1990’s with chart topping hits including End of the Road, I’ll Make Love To You and One Sweet Day and now brothers Nathan  and Wayna Morris and Shawn Stockman are back to wow the Glasgow audience with their famous a capella harmonies and soulful ballads as they celebrate their 20th anniversary.

Wanya Morris, comments:  “We have always been fans of the MOBO Awards and to have the opportunity to perform while celebrating our 20th anniversary is not only exciting, but very humbling.  We LOVE going to the UK – we are trying to find a way to stay over there and hang for a few days!"

Shawn Stockman: "When we got asked to do the MOBO Awards, it was a quick "Oh hell yes!”

This news comes ahead of the nomination announcement tonight (31st August) where the full list of nominees will be revealed. MOBO will also be shaking up the voting system this year by hosting one category exclusively on Facebook where fans will be able to cast their vote for the Best Newcomer in association with Lebara Mobile on to ensure their favourite artist takes the title.

As part of a three-year deal secured by Glasgow City Marketing Bureau and EventScotland, Scotland's national events agency, with support from the Scottish Government and Scottish Enterprise, MOBO will return to host its annual awards ceremony in Glasgow in 2013 and 2015. From 2013, the event will be held in the SECC's new 12,000-seater Scottish Hydro Arena, while 2015 will mark the 20th birthday of the MOBO organisation and the awards.

The 2011 MOBO Awards will be held on Wednesday 5th October at the Glasgow SECC arena.  Tickets are on sale now available from
