Organisers of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2011/12 are delighted to announce today, that Scottish rockers Primal Scream are confirmed to headline the Concert in the Gardens, the music and fireworks spectacular, seen as one of the greatest celebrations of New Year in the world.
Following last year’s sell-out event, the indie legends will perform their seminal 1991 album ‘Screamadelica’ in its entirety, for the last time as part of its 20th anniversary year. This will be followed after the bells with a greatest hits set spanning three decades. 'Screamadelica' is considered a dance/rock masterpiece, the soundtrack to a generation, produced by Andrew Weatherall and features classic tracks 'Movin' On Up', 'Loaded' and the 10-minute anthem 'Come Together'. Headlining Concert in the Gardens concludes an incredible year for Primal Scream who; following a series of critically acclaimed festival performances and a show stealing set at Glastonbury this summer, have confirmed their status as one of the UK’s most important and exciting rock acts.
Tickets to bring in the bells with Primal Scream at Concert in the Gardens will go on-sale to the public from 9.00am, Thursday 1 September.
