The World Pipe Band Championships return to Glasgow Green this weekend bringing a whole day of entertainment and excitement for people of all ages. Alongside the 230 bands and 8000 pipers and drummers coming to the city from all over the world, spectators will be treated to the Glasgow World Highland Games, Highland Dancing Competitions, celebrity chefs cooking as part of Flavour of Scotland, a children’s zone featuring visits from Hamley Bear.
Every year more than 200 bands bring 8,000 pipers and drummers and thousands of spectators to Glasgow Green for the unique sights and sounds of the event which is affectionately known as “The Worlds”. The World Pipe Band Championships have been associated with Glasgow for almost 70 years.

The World Pipe Band Championships are being organised by Glasgow Life on behalf of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and Glasgow City Council and are supported by EventScotland, Scottish Enterprise and Glasgow City Marketing Bureau.
