Big Bash

Youngsters across North Lanarkshire are being encouraged to come along to an action-packed evening of sports and activities at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility.

The “Games Legacy for Scotland – Big Bash” event, which is part of the Games for Scotland programme, will take place on Saturday 1 October from 6pm to 10pm. The evening aims to celebrate the run up to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games through competitive sports and fun activities.

Over one thousand children aged 8 to 17 years are expected to attend the event, which is being supported by EventScotland and is one of a series of events running throughout the country as part of the Games for Scotland programme. All are welcome to attend this free event.

As well as the substantial support from EventScotland, the “Big Bash” is a partnership between the organisations involved in the Saturday Sports Scene, these include: North Lanarkshire Leisure, North Lanarkshire Council, Strathclyde Police, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, Shotts Getting Better Together (Healthy Living Centre), NHS Lanarkshire and SIdekix.
