Free transport confirmed for Track World Cup

Organisers of this weekend’s UCI Track World Cup in Glasgow today (Tuesday) unveiled details of a free shuttle bus service to help get ticket holders to and from the event.
Glasgow Life and British Cycling have confirmed details of a free shuttle bus service from Buchanan Bus Station to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome at the Emirates Arena on all three competition days (Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 November).

The services will be completely free for ticket holders and will operate at regular intervals throughout the event weekend with a reduced service during session times. Services from Buchanan Bus Station (Stances 23 – 32) will operate on a circular service between 9.30am and 11pm on Friday, 8.30am and 11.30pm on Saturday and 8am and 6.30pm on Sunday.

A spokesman for Glasgow Life said: “The UCI Track World Cup is shaping up to be a truly world-class event. It will be the first international cycling competition at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome with thousands of fans expected to watch the action over the weekend.

“The free shuttle bus services will make a real difference to travelling fans and will minimise the strain on the public transport network.”
