The town centre route to be used in the Halfords Tour Series race in Kirkcaldy has been revealed.
It will begin on the Esplanade before taking in a circular route along High Street, Kirk Wynd, Hill Street, High Street, Tolbooth Street and back along the Esplanade.
The professional city centre cycling race is a team based televised event that is expected to attract thousands of spectators on Tuesday 15 May where ten top British teams will begin their five week battle to be crowned champions of the Series.
Cyclists from The Halfords Tour Series helped unveil the Kirkcaldy circuit, led by Commonwealth Games Bronze medallist James McCallum. James is a member of the 2011 Series Champions Rapha Condor Sharp, so will be opening his 2012 title defence on home roads and with the support of a home crowd.
Joining James were riders from the two guest teams who will appear in the Kirkcaldy round: Pedal Power - Endura - Forme Racing and VanillaBikes.com, who will be led by Fife resident Ben Greenwood.
The evening event will begin at 7pm and the race will take in approximately 30 to 35 laps of the route. The event, and its first host town of the Series, will also be televised in dedicated ITV4 coverage the following evening at 8pm.
