The BBC, the UK's public-service broadcaster, has agreed a deal to continue televising the Bupa Great Run, a series of elite and mass-participation runs in the country, live until 2018.
The deal covers the world's biggest half marathon, the Great North Run, and the Great Manchester 10K Run. The Great Edinburgh Cross-Country competition and the Great City Games, staged in both Newcastle and Manchester, are also included in the deal.
Barbara Slater, the BBC's director of sport, said: "These events celebrate elite long distance athletics and inspire thousands of amateur runners."
