An incredible weekend in the Highlands

Mountain Bike World Cup

The Scottish Highlands enjoyed an unforgettable weekend packed full of sporting and cultural events last weekend. Starting with the historic passing of the Olympic Flame, the iconic torch journed through Glen Coe, before arriving at Inverness on the evening of the of 9 June. The weekend also saw thousands of music fans descending on the banks of Loch Ness to attend RockNess, which is known as “the most beautiful festival in the world”, because of its jaw-dropping location.

Team Great Britain & Ireland triumphed at one of the world’s most prestigious amateur female golf tournaments, the Curtis Cup, taking place in the picturesque coastal town of Nairn.  The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup also hosted over 250 riders, from 25 different nations to compete in Downhill and 4-Cross races on Fort William’s adrenaline pumping Nevis Ski Range.
