Glasgow is currently bidding against 5 world-wide cities to host the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, and has today launched a UK-wide marketing campaign to encourage the British public to back the bid.
The Youth Olympic Games launched in 2010 and is one of the biggest sporting events in the world exclusively for young athletes who compete in 28 Olympic sports over 12 days of top-class competition.
The Youth Olympic Games aim’s to inspire young people globally to participate in sport and live by the Olympic Values.
Glasgow 2018 aims to continue the UK’S Olympic journey of inspiring a generation and providing young people with the skills and tools they need to reach their potential. It would allow young people to become champions in their lives.
The host city for these 2018 Youth Olympic Games will be decided in July 2013 by members of the International Olympic Committee.
