With just two days to go until the 18th MOBO Awards take over Glasgow for a star studded night to celebrate the finest urban music, MOBO is excited to announce that AlunaGeorge, Ms Dynamite and Shy FX have all been added to the line-up of music on the live show this Saturday at the newly opened SSE Hydro Arena.
Super cool, electro pop duo, AlunaGeorge will be bringing their infectious hooks and throbbing basslines to the party with a unique performance of the smash ‘Attracting Flies’. Adding to the star studded line up are two legends of the UK music scene, Ms Dynamite and Shy FX who will be performing their hotly anticipated collaboration, ‘Cloud 9’. Surrounded by carnival dancers and drawing on Shy FX sound system roots, this is sure to be a performance of epic proportions.
Hosting the festivities, four-time MOBO winner and legendary Urban music DJ Trevor Nelson MBE and fellow BBC 1Xtra DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford will steer proceedings as the show airs live on BBC Three this Saturday from 9pm and repeated on Sunday, BBC1 at 11:30pm.
Expect some electrifying performances across the night featuring, pyros, tributes, special guest vocalists, dance troupes and even a fairground! This year’s awards are set to shine as the biggest show yet!
The evening will present 13 diverse MOBO Awards categories featuring nominees such as Disclosure, Tinie Tempah, Rudimental, Jessie J, Jessie Ware and Wretch 32 amongst others, all in the running for one of the coveted awards with Laura Mvula and Wiley in the lead with four nominations.
As a UNESCO city of music, Glasgow enjoys an enviable reputation as one of the world’s top music destinations. The MOBO Awards return to Glasgow for the third time as the result of a successful partnership between the MOBO Organisation, EventScotland and Glasgow City Marketing Bureau. The Awards will be the first multi-artist, televised event at the brand new SSE Hydro.
