This weekend the best Mountain Bike Cross Country athletes from across Britain will head to Cathkin Braes Country Park with the hopes of clinching the British National Championship titles on the 2014 Commonwealth Games course. Around 500 competitors will compete in six races over the two days, testing the newly built course and determining National Champions in 18 categories.
Olympic and Commonwealth Games athlete and 5 times British Champion Liam Killeen, XC Eliminator World Cup winner Kenta Gallagher and Scottish Champion Lee Craigie lead a world class field of athletes at the 2013 British Cycling National Mountain Bike Cross Country Championships this weekend.
For those attending Glasgow City Council will be providing a FREE SPT spectator shuttle Bus system. The shuttle will be running from Hampden Transport Hub on Aikenhead Road to the Championship event village at Cathkin Braes every 15 minutes with a drop off/ pick up point at Kings Park rail station.
Alternatively for those that want to ride to the event there is a designated Bike Park (remember your bike lock).
All championship races will take place on Sunday 21st July with Under 12, Under 10, Under 8, Sport, Open and Fun races taking place on Saturday 20th July. On the day entry is still available for all races taking place on Saturday.
