Our second free seminar of 2013 will explore how to plan and promote your event in an ever-evolving technological landscape. Taking place at Summerhall, the former Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh - the venue is now a creative hub for the arts with studio and workshop spaces.
Keynote speaker Stephen Whitelaw will explore the 'Future of the Web', taking you on a live, interactive and in-depth tour into the future of the numerous web and internet technologies. It will explain how you can exploit, at a low cost, these new and emerging technologies to your organisations advantage saving you time and money and enabling you to better understand and measure the effectiveness of your digital assets.
Stephen has over 25 years experience within the technology sector, and has delivered keynotes and workshops on digital marketing strategies & social media to some of the largest corporations in the world including both Google and Microsoft.
The session will continue with Jenny Mungall, Senior Account Director at Material, Glasgow of which clients include DF Concerts and Edinburgh International Festival. Jenny will be sharing her experience of developing a digital strategy from scratch for Vital Festival - Belfast's equivilent to T in The Park, as well as providing some helpful tips.
Events should be aware of the threats of digital communication as well as effectively using the social media to manage negative situations. Lisa Murray, Intelligence and Analysis Trainer at Scottish Police College will discuss how to best protect your event reputation.
Finally, it is integral for events to work in partnership to further reach audiences. Alex Crawley from Glasgow International Comedy Festival will be showing how they have activated partner digital channels to successfully grow attendances for an event described by the Times as 'An impressive piece of programming...who knew Glasgow in March was such a cheerful place to be?'
The session will end with a panel session with the opportunity for delegates to ask questions, followed by a light lunch and networking.
