Heading into its third year, the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival is making an impressive mark on the international fashion scene, engaging with the industry and the city in a fresh, innovative way. Following a successful 2013, this year sees a further evolution of the Festival, with a series of exceptional, curated events across the city.
The theme for this year’s festival is ‘New Horizons’ which will permeate all of the festival’s many events. While focusing on the best Scottish fashion & design we also take time to celebrate South Africa’s emergence as a design powerhouse, made official by Cape Town being named World Design Capital for 2014.
Expect runway shows, exhibitions, gala parties, interactive workshops and talks in some of the most unique and beautiful venues in Edinburgh including The National Museum of Scotland, Gayfield Creative Spaces, The Queen’s Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse and The Assembly Rooms.
International luminaries will sit alongside local heroes as the Fashion Festival engages the industry and general public in original, thought-provoking ways.
Also launching during the Fashion festival is a new festival, The Retina Scottish International Photography Festival for which EIFF Director, Anna Freemantle has curated two exciting exhibitions by celebrated photographers, Rankin and Helena Christensen.
EventScotland is supporting a research project intended to help the festival better understand its audiences and potential for growth.
