Endura Tour O’ The Borders announce road closures on 10th August

The emerald forests, sweeping valleys and heather-clad moorlands of the Scottish Borders are
helping it become one of the UK’s most popular cycling destinations, bringing tens of thousands of
additional visitors and huge economic benefits to the area every year.
Cycling events are playing an important part in this growth, and on Sunday, 10th August, the
Endura Tour O’ The Borders is expected to attract three thousand cyclists of all abilities, taking part
to raise money for charity. With most of the riders expected to stay overnight, the event should
bring an estimated £500,000 of income to the area. The event is supported by EventScotland and
Scottish Borders Council, and will help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care.
In order to allow the participants to enjoy the event in safety, it will be held on closed roads. The
124km circular route will be closed on the 10th August for most of the day and Tour O’ The Borders
have been working hard with traffic management experts to ensure disruption is kept to a
minimum.
The route is mainly confined to rural roads between Peebles, Crosslee and Selkirk and these areas
will be closed to all traffic on the 10th August. Full details and closure schedules have already been
published on the event website. Tour O’ The Borders will also be hand delivering full information
leaflets to every property on the route, ensuring inconvenience is minimised.
For more information, there is a comprehensive FAQ section and map showing the route, on the
‘Community’ section of the event website www.tourotheborders.com, and if you have specific
