The School of Marketing, Tourism and Languages, Edinburgh Napier University, is hosting a workshop on the use and effectiveness of blogs in the Scottish Festival and Events Industry.
The increased use of blogs has not only affected communication channels but also the way that festivals and events are promoted and consumed. To date, there has been little research into the effectiveness of the use of blogs within events, despite the fact that with decreasing funding and increased competition for sponsorship more events are looking to the use of digital media as a way of engaging customers and communicating to a wider audience.
This workshop aims to share best practice on the usage of blogs in the Scottish Festival and Events Industry from both a management as well as a blogging practice perspective. The workshop will also offer insights and advice on how to develop and capitalise on blogging for events.
