The Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open has been announced as one of four new events on the 2017 LPGA Schedule.
Dundonald Links, in North Ayrshire, will welcome the AAM Ladies Scottish Open from July 27-30 in a co-sanctioned event across both the Ladies European Tour (LET) and Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tours.
It is the first time the tournament will be contested on the same course as the men’s Scottish Open, as it kicks off a two week run in Scotland with the Ricoh Women’s British Open being played the following week at Kingsbarns in St Andrews.
The Ladies Scottish Open is the only new tournament to be announced as part of the 2017 LPGA schedule which will be played in Europe. EventScotland’s participation in helping to grow this championship globally show’s Scotland’s commitment to growing the women’s game as it looks towards hosting The 2019 Solheim Cup at Gleneagles.
Paul Bush OBE, VisitScotland's Director of Events said: “Scotland is known around the world as the home of golf and host of the world’s greatest golf events so it is exciting to see the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open taking pride of place on the 2017 LPGA Schedule alongside so many other world class events.”
