Delegates are set to hear about recent marketing innovations, event marketing concepts and future opportunities from a selection of industry-leading practitioners on Thursday 2 June.
The seminar is being delivered by the VisitScotland Events Directorate in partnership with Edinburgh’s Festivals and Edinburgh Napier University.
Only a handful of places remain and can be booked here, a waiting list will then be put into operation.The programme, announced today, will give you a look at how event marketeers are responding to current trends and opportunities to maximise event attendance.
The seminar is designed to provide useful information to anyone involved in the organisation and/or promotion of events in Scotland.

An Edinburgh’s Festivals panel where Dr Jane Ali-Knight will discuss recent marketing innovation trends and challenges with: Amanda Barry, Head of Marketing & PR, Edinburgh International Book Festival; Elizabeth Burchell, Head of Marketing & Sponsorship, Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society; Kirsty Tough, Marketing Manager, Edinburgh International Film Festival and; Owen O’Leary, Marketing and Communications Manager (Mat. Cover), Edinburgh International Science Festival 2016.
Delegates will hear how to join the ScotSpirit movement and maximise the benefits for their events, with VisitScotland’s first ever global brand for Scotland in Sharing the Spirit of Scotland with Mark Irwin, Senior Brand Engagement Manager, VisitScotland.
An introduction to the theory of events and festivals marketing from Dr Louise Todd, Lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University.
Kirstie Macdonald, Client Director and Board Member at Disruptive Insight will provide an indepth look at Big Data for Events – The Future Advantage. Following up on her fascinating introduction to the subject at the National Events Conference 2015, Kirstie will provide some key take-home messages for delegates.
Delegates will be welcomed to the seminar by Marie Christie, Head of Development – Events Industry, VisitScotland and hosted by Dr Jane Ali-KnightAssociate Professor in Festival and Event Management at Edinburgh Napier University.
Tea and coffee will be provided on arrival and during the mid-morning networking break. Lunch will be provided form 13.00pm – 14.00pm.
