Top dancing judges line up for Cowal 2016

Some of the world’s most respected Highland Dancing experts are preparing to head to Dunoon to judge the world’s best Highland Dancers at this year’s Cowal Highland Gathering (CHG).

Once again we have a stellar line-up with the adjudication team coming from Scotland, the USA, Canada and Australia.

The 12-strong team will oversee the most important events in the global Highland Dancing calendar – the Scottish National Highland Dancing Championships (on the Thursday), the Scottish Championship and the qualifiers for the World Highland Dancing Championship (Friday) and the final of the World Highland Dancing Championship (Saturday).

Cowal Highland Gathering chair Ronnie Cairns said: “We are delighted to announce this year’s prestigious adjudication panel and look forward to welcoming them to Dunoon at the end of August.  The panel boast 12 highly experienced individuals who have the necessary expertise to judge the world’s greatest Highland Dancing competition.

“The dancers currently practising for Cowal Highland Gathering have a huge challenge ahead. Not only are they up against the finest competition in the world, but they’re also dancing in front of some of the best judges in the world and, of course, the most discerning audience in the world as well!

“We’d like to thank the various dancing organisations who have assisted us in the panel selection process.  Everything is now in place, and we look forward to three days of fierce competition when the 2016 Gathering kicks off on August 25.
