Time running out on our early bird Scottish Open ticket offer

TIME is running out for badminton fans who want to take advantage of the early bird ticket discount for the Scottish Open Grand Prix.

Midnight on Sunday is the deadline for our special offer to see some of the world’s top players competing at the Scottish Open at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena from 22-26 November 2017.

The Scottish Open features some of the top international athletes year on year including Scotland’s very own Kirsty Gilmour, who thrilled the home crowd with her run to the quarter-finals of the World Championships in August at the same venue.

The 2016 tournament saw Scotland’s Adam Hall and his partner Peter Mills progress all the way through to the final of the men’s doubles event - where they narrowly lost out to the Danish pairing of Mathias Christiansen and David Daugaard.

That victory meant three titles for Denmark, after they also triumphed in the men’s and women’s singles events, and two titles for Malaysia, who had success in the women’s and mixed doubles.

This year’s tournament will be held from November 22-26 at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena and the early bird discount, offering 50 per cent off tickets, is available until October 22.

Anne Smillie, Chief Executive of BADMINTONscotland, said: “The Scottish Open Grand Prix is rapidly approaching and we at BADMINTONscotland cannot wait to welcome the badminton world to Glasgow once again.

“The Scottish Open is always a hugely exciting tournament to be part of and I am confident this year will be no different, especially after the resounding success of the TOTAL BWF World Championships in August.

“I am optimistic the people of Glasgow will offer a warm welcome to our visitors throughout the duration of the tournament, and I encourage everyone to take advantage of our fantastic Early Bird ticket offer while they still can.”

Paul Bush OBE, VisitScotland’s Director of Events, said: “It is great to have world-class badminton back at Emirates Arena so soon after the TOTAL BWF World Championships. The Championships were a huge success, showcasing why Scotland is the perfect stage for events and EventScotland is delighted to again be supporting BADMINTONscotland to deliver another fantastic event in the shape of Scottish Open Grand Prix.

“I encourage badminton fans or those keen to catch the sport live to take advantage of the amazing Early Bird ticket offer.”

Tickets for the Scottish Open are available on the Scottish Open Eventbrite page.

The Scottish Open Grand Prix is being staged at the Emirates Arena FROM 22-26 November 2017 by BADMINTONscotland with support from Glasgow Life, Glasgow City Council and EventScotland.
