Tickets for Colours of Cluny 2017 to go on public sale

Organisers of Forres’ Colours of Cluny have announced that tickets for the 2017 show will go on public sale this Friday, 23rd June, at 9am.

Colours of Cluny, which first took place last November, will return for a 12-night run from Wednesday 8th – Sunday 19th November 2017. The sound and light show will enhance the dramatic landscape of Forres’ Grant Park and Cluny Hill in a mixture of mesmerising sound and colourful light.

The event, the first of its kind in Morayshire, is staged by Forres Features Community Interest Company, a non-profit organisation formed by the local community in Forres. The 2016 show cost over £120,000 to stage and the community interest group rely on funding donations to support the event. This year, funding has already been secured from the Budge Foundation, Highlands and Island Enterprise and EventScotland, part of VisitScotland’s Events Directorate, as well as donations from many other local businesses.

Graham Murdoch, Chairman of Forres Features Community Interest Company, commented:

“We are delighted that preparations are well underway for Colours of Cluny 2017 and that the public are now able to secure their tickets for this very popular event. After the success of the show in 2016, we’re looking forward to introducing many new and exciting sound and light concepts to make this year’s show bigger and better than last year.

Graham continued:

“A small number of tickets went on sale to previous visitors who had signed up to our email database and, with sales already exceeding expectations, we urge the public to make sure they get their tickets quickly to avoid disappointment.”

Head of EventScotland, Stuart Turner, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Colours of Cluny through our National Programme for the first time this year. Scotland is the perfect stage for cultural events, and this spectacular light and sound show will no doubt attract visitors from both the local area and further afield, making for a memorable visit to the stunning setting of Forres’ Grant Park and Cluny Hill this autumn."

Over 12,500 visitors descended on Forres last November to enjoy the vibrant display of colour and sound during its inaugural 10-night run, enjoying over 600 light fittings and consuming over 20,000 marshmallows.

Tickets will go on sale to the public at 9am on Friday 23rd June at www.coloursofcluny.com
